My boy Sean over at Just a Jeep Guy posts questions and answers every Thursday, and invites bloggers to participate by doing the same. (He previews the questions beforehand so that bloggers can post them on Thursday). So here I go.
THE WEIRDEST THING
We ate at an Eritrean restaurant once and had injera (sponge bread) and wats (stew). It was a really fun experience since we had absolutely no idea what we were ordering. We were happily surprised.
I saw lightning hit the pavement about 20 feet in front of me once. I was in my car, stopped at a stop sign out in the country. It was not stormy, but I could tell a storm was approaching. The lightning hit right in the center of the intersection and went through the pavement. The bolt was about a foot wide and brilliant white. The clap was instant and LOUD. It really shook me.
Sorry to disappoint you, but I live a very risk-averse life and don’t do much that is weird and exciting. Weird and boring maybe. For example:
Once when I was a kid growing up in rural Ohio, when I went to bed at night I noticed an odd smell, like fish. It was a little unpleasant, and very unusual. The next night it was stronger, and the next night even stronger, and so on. After a few days it had become quite unpleasant and unbearable. I could not figure out what the smell was. Then it was time to mow the yard, and when I brought the lawn mower over to the side of the house where my bedroom was, I noticed under my bedroom window a dead muskrat. It was bloated and nasty and stunk to high heaven. I got a shovel and got rid of it. Yuck!
You’ve heard of…?
The weirdest event I know of, and would love to witness someday, is la tomatina festival in Buñol, Spain where they have an annual tomato fight. What a delicious mess.
You’ve put in your mouth…?
When I was a kid I put a live garter snake in my mouth. It wiggled around for a second and I spit it out. Some kid name Jimmy dared me to do it. I wonder what else I would put in my mouth for someone named Jimmy?
The weirdest thing you’ve done sexually…?
Without going into too much detail, I can tell you I practiced water sports once or twice.
