TMI Thursday

by Cubby on December 13, 2012 · 9 comments

My boy Sean over at Just a Jeep Guy posts questions and answers every Thursday, and invites bloggers to participate by doing the same. (He previews the questions beforehand so that bloggers can post them on Thursday). So here I go.

THE WAR ON CHRISTMAS

Which religion or faith do you belong to, if any?
I’m a recovering Catholic who no longer belongs to any organized delusion.

What is your opinion of seasonal greetings and salutations?
A guy at work the other day walked up to an old friend of his and greeted him with a Merry Christmas. I liked it.

Holiday music on the radio?
I’ll listen to a few hours of xmas music each year, but beyond that I just say no.

What is your policy for exchanging gifts?
The best gifts to exchange are reproductive fluids. I’m willing to exchange gifts with any man.

Gift cards are…
…jolly good fun!

Bonus Questions

Christmas cards/family update letters are…
I love sending xmas cards, much more than is normal most likely. Family update letters? Pass!

Snow is…
…one of the wonders of Earth. I love snow, except when I have to shovel it. Or drive in it. Or walk in it.

Have you been a good little boy or girl?

This year I’ve been especially good. Probably the best I’ve been in my life. I wonder what my punishment will be?

RAPID FIRE FAVORITES

Which religion or faith do you belong to, if any?
I believe in a lot of things. But by definition, I’m an Atheist because I don’t believe there is one outside supreme entity. I was raised Catholic.

What is your opinion of seasonal greetings and salutations?
Someone who wishes me a Merry Christmas or Happy Hanukkah is, in their mind, wishing me something good, something they’d like to be wished. I don’t understand taking offense to that. It’s not a personal affront, it’s something inviting and happy, regardless of my not subscribing to their particular beliefs.

Holiday music on the radio?
No.

What is your policy for exchanging gifts?
No. If I wind up with something I can’t use, I wait a little while and then quietly give it away or donate it. And the gift giver will never know.

Gift cards are…
Wise.

Bonus Questions

Christmas cards/family update letters are…
Absolutely awesome as long as they are hand written. Mailing a card or letter is something you do outside of the e-age. No printing copies, no mass mailing. Anyone who wants to take the time to write me a hand written personal catch-up letter is welcome to do so.

Snow is…
One of my favorite things on the planet.

Have you been a good little boy or girl?
This year was the best year of my life. I (too, Cubby!) was the best I’ve ever been, and I’ve had the best things in life given to me.

“This year I’ve been especially good.” – you sure have, honey! MWAH!

Since you’re so keen on, erm, ‘spreading around’ your reproductive juices, have you considered being a sperm donor? Just imagine – thousands, perhaps MILLIONS, of little Cubbies running around, populating the entire earth!

I’m always bad

the exchange of gifts section made me sit up.
It sure makes the office “Secret Santa” a bit more interesting.
In matters of punishment, I plan to fix your wagon this March. Do not dare to question this.

“Organized delusion” – ha ha ha ha!
On Victor’s recommendation, am listening to Weihnachtsoratorium by Bach. Oh yes!!

victorinvermont December 14, 2012 at 1:47 pm

That made my day, Java! It’s looooonnnggg. But it’s lovely to just leave on and enjoy. It’s the only Christmas album I have.
