Storm? What Storm?

Now that this year’s latest “Storm of the Century” is all but passed, I’m thankful to be able to say practically everyone got it worse than us. Even my inlaws in Cleveland lost their electricity and had tree damage. We did not. I feel terrible for those who did.

I’m looking at the TV news as I write this, and it appears we are the exception in the DC area. Plenty of trees down and power out. Yesterday afternoon they cancelled my work today, but tomorrow it should be open.

Special thoughts going out to those to our north.

The National Hurricane Center’s prediction was remarkably accurate. Yay meteorology and atmospheric science!

Not much damage in the Boston proper area. The south coast around Cape Cod and close to Rhode Island got clobbered, mostly with tidal flooding. We didn’t lose any power. I do have to go to work today. Joy. LOL

we are fine here; still have electricity and heat. some small tree limbs down. no work for spouse and I; no power at my office, flooded roads to his. no public transportation, amtrak, airport, school…hellz, even the liquor (state) stores are closed!

but my home and the cats and the spouse and the neighbors are all alive; we survived! :)

Well, glad you’re both safe and sound. Hurricanes are like that. Katrina tore apart a few of our neighbors houses while ours received only minor damage.

Yeah, we dodged the blow in Central VA, too. Almost no power outages. Even Tidewater seems to be mostly OK. NYC and NJ seem to have been pounded, and flooded. I feel for them.

I got a four day weekend out of it, not bad for a glancing blow!

Peace <3

Phew! relieved and pleased for you. But very :-( for those badly affected, and those fatalities most of all.

I’m glad to hear all is well with all my blogger friends! WHEW!

Providence was spared a lot of it too. I suspect it’s because we’re at the head of Narragansett Bay – and the water in the bay is getting cooler by the day so it couldn’t sustain the energy needed to keep going.

Friend of ours further down the bay lost their power though. Ours stayed on throughout.

If I believe the Fundies, then this is God’s will you were spared as you are so virtuous….
