That’s right, it was the lovely Anne Marie from Philly!
Last weekend was one of my 3-day weekends, and we arranged it with Anne Marie to come pay us a visit. We had lots of fun. Here are some highlights…
- showing her our apartment (she used to live here in northern Virginia and has even been in our apartment building before!)
- visiting our favorite Mom & Pop restaurant
- drinking cosmos (Sean’s recipe, thank you xoxoxo)
- teaching me how to bake a cake from scratch while mixing drinks and watching Polyester
- drinking more cosmos
- checking out some of Anne Marie’s old haunts around town
- going to Dupont Circle and peeking at the boys
- finding a rare book at Secondhand Books signed by a bunch of famous people (can’t tell you more than that for reasons you’ll find out later)
- walking around the surrounding neighborhood checking out some cool embassies and old hotels
- spending some time at Eastern Market (farmer’s market and flea market)
- riding the hell out of the subway (oops, sorry Blobby, I mean Metro)
- stopping at ABC to pick up more triple sec
- drinking more cosmos (before, during, and after dinner)
- cooking up a storm at our apartment and eating a big homecooked meal
- having brunch at an old-fashioned diner with a singing cook!
- and finally seeing her off at a very busy Union Station in Washington
Thank you for a wonderful weekend, girrrrl!!

Cubby and Anne Marie

Anne Marie and Cubby

I LOVE Lulu’s soliloquy about how she’s going to have an abortion. That is one of my favourite scenes in the movie.
fabulous!
and even more so with cosmos!
in my own defense, I was squinting into the sun in the first pix; we would drink during brunch after taking that picture saturday morning.
the second pix – OMFG were we ever tipsy saturday evening! and cubby did NOT try to take advantage of me (dammit)!
cubby and his sexay bear hubby are wonderful friends; thanks for everything!
And what a grand weekend that will have been! Despite A.M.’s protestations of innocence (hah!), I only hope that all those gallons of cosmos on tap didn’t get the two of you TOO frisky!
double entendres were flying everywhere, but all 3 of us managed to keep our clothes on and our hands to ourselves. we practiced safe sex. DAMMIT!
Very reassuring, A.M. Such a relief to read that there was no hanky-panky which might have compromised your reputation(s). That would have been intolerable. – However, come to think of it, there are ways of keeping ones clothes on , keeping ones HANDS to oneself and yet still……….No, I refuse to entertain such a possibility!
that’s a good boy! I retained my virginity the entire weekend!
Very exciting!
Those drinks look good
oh, they WERE, honey! VERY intoxicating too!
(wish I had one right now)
